Quick & Easy Meatless Pasta Recipe

I have been trying my best to limit my meat intake. To find out why, read this article I posted a couple weeks back.

Today I decided to make pasta with a meatless sauce as a substitute to pasta with ground beef sauce. I wanted it to taste like its meaty cousin and with much experimentation and my first time making it, the end result was delicious!

This was my recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Onion
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Bottle Pasta Sauce
  • 1 Packet of Spaghetti
  • Garlic & Ginger Paste (optional)
  • Morning Star Farms Grillers Crumbles – (or any other brand of veggie ground beef alternative)
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Sriracha (to taste)
  • Oil

Dice the onion and garlic. Turn heat on high and add oil. Once the oil is hot, toss in the onions and cook until brown. Throw in the garlic. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add the veggie ground beef alternative. Mix the veggie ground beef with the onion and garlic. Let it simmer for 4-5 minute and turn the heat to medium. Add half bottle of pasta sauce, keep the rest for later. Mix and add chili powder, turmeric, garlic and ginger paste, salt, and Sriracha. Let simmer for 10 minutes on low, stirring occasionally. Either leave it on low flame or set aside for later.

Boil spaghetti and drain. Stir in the rest of the pasta sauce and add half of the meatless sauce. Mix well and plate. Add more meatless sauce on top as you prefer. Enjoy!

Overall it turned out amazing. I had my family try it and they are big meat eaters and all of them actually liked it. My little sister even had a whole plate of it for dinner.
